In the e-learning phase, you and your trainees have less contact than in the usual everyday training. That is why it is particularly important that you formulate clear and precise work assignments in eCademy that leave little room for misunderstandings and loopholes.

With clear tasks, you ensure that your trainees know what they are supposed to do and by when. You avoid trainees finding excuses for not completing tasks and being unprepared.

Use the study list function to assign tasks.

As a trainer, how do I formulate precise tasks in a study list?

  • Specify the period for which the work order is intended. This allows you to create work orders for different time periods without you or your trainees losing track.

  • Name the learning objective in the "Information for trainees" section. This increases transparency.

  • Divide the task into individual steps. Small-step tasks make it easier to complete and ensure a greater sense of achievement.

  • Use simple language to remove potential obstacles for your trainees.

  • Indicate which eCademy formats from the attached learning units are to be used (e.g. presentation, exercise and test or just the presentations, etc.) so that the trainees know exactly what they are supposed to work on - note whether you have attached one or more learning units to the work assignment.

  • Specify whether your trainees are to work on the task individually, in pairs or in groups. Social learning is particularly important in the e-learning phase. It increases motivation.

  • Write down which specific result should be available by when so that your trainees can plan their learning well in advance.

  • Allow sufficient time. A complete learning unit (consisting of presentation, exercise and test) takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. Depending on how many learning units are in a study list and how complex the associated task is, it may make sense to set a processing time of a few hours, a day or a week.
